1.
Climb the hill, watching from the tall grass, They’re coming at you, wait for the signal ya. Hold, the community depends on it. Listen, Everyone in place, let it go. Push them past, up to the hill, over the cliff, push it, that’s it. Now hit the ground, now hit the ground, now hit the ground, they’re coming down Now the buffalo are off the cliffs.
2.
I long for the wind through my hair And the sun beating down on my back, To the edges of the mountains I ride, The rivers are my fountains, I glide. Chorus Where have the warriors gone? Time for freedom. Beat of the buffalo song Beat of the buffalo song Fishing bear in a creek Above the hawk dances high Gripping the horses mane From the rolling hills through the golden plain. Rolling through the pine, The moons victorious shine. The sky reaches for miles, The lone wolf, he smiles.

about

Single and B-side for the upcoming (2022) Album "Dog Trail"
Most Daring Nomads work is Jared Tailfeathers with one or two collaborative musicians, with a focus on improvised experimentation. This marks the first Album done by Jared Tailfeathers as a solo artist with fully formed, written and intentional practiced material with singing and lyrics, instead of collaborative improvised experimentations.

A quest and exploration of the land, under the map of the traditional Blackfoot Siksikaitsitapi traditional territory. www.glenbow.org/blackfoot/images/maps/traditional_territory_map.jpg

All songs feature and were written with my invented instruments and are lead by the two newest instrument designs that I made in 2019. There is an instrument that I didn’t make that is featured in many songs, I tried to keep a variety of different instruments from various styles and origins, they represent the "newcomer" influence on the change in the land and cultural environment.

Album Concept Story- Dog Trail
A concept album about storytelling: there is a young man sitting in his lodge on the land, during a rainy night in the spring, and with him is an ancient dog that has lived for hundreds of years, a guide for the man and friend to the ancestors. He asks the dog to tell him old stories.

She tells the story of the young man's ancestor, who was once a young brave. He needed to prove his worth so he was tasked to follow the old ways and travel through his people’s territory and know the special and important places. To document the journey through song and rock art. She tells about the need for memory and to tie it to the land and the markings upon it, something that has been here for thousands of years before the present day.
The brave was to visit with his distant relations, the other nations of his people throughout the territory. To visit interlopers who don’t recognize the relationship with the land and teach them harsh lessons if needed.
As a guide, She would go with him for a year or the full 13-moon calendar (13 songs/tracks) from spring to spring. Circling the entire territory, he would see and participate with many important tasks, traditions and read landmarks. The young man is then told to take this journey himself.

I won’t be releasing the whole album until next year (2022) to finish the whole project, including the research book, the album/book art and the final part of the art project for 2021/2022.
